The Russian AKM was accepted into service in the year 1959 and was the standard front line military rifle for the Soviet Union until 1977. During this period an estimated 10 million were produced by the state owned manufacturing companies Izmash and Tula. These rifles have a distinct laminate rectangular palmswell design that is unique to the Russian design.
This newly produced reproduction is the most accurate on the market. Featuring a cleaning kit compartment in the stock, steel reinforcement pins, hardwood upper handguard, and a period correct Shellac finish.
